Final piece

For my final fashion garment for this project I decided to produce a top. This is because I wanted to do something different to what I normally do (dresses) and for this reason it made me take risks and push the boundaries that I wouldn't normally do.

Firstly I chose my material I wanted to use. I already knew what material I wanted to use with doing previous samples. The samples helped me to experiment with new techniques using hot air. I used a white sheer material with black Chinese writing on it. I find it looks elegant, flows well and is brilliant to use with hot air. It can imprint a shape , and also it can crease and crimps the fabric together it gives off an interesting effect. Secondly I took measurement (my bust, shoulder length and the length the top would be) . Since I did my sampling I knew what I was doing so I got stuck in and cut the frount and back out and brunt it together. I took some of my sample and sewed that on aswell as sawing that actual garment.

Sampling

Because of my other dress not turning out as well as I wanted. I decided before I start another I would do some sampling and find out witch material or techniques that work best for me. before I make the garment, all these techniques are use with a heat gun to make each unque sample.
This method is basically trapping objects with heat.

My trail dress

I wanted to produce something that I haven't done before using different materials and fabrics. This was men't to be inspiration from lady gaga and a deep flame colour. This dress reminds me of a dress from paparazzi (lady gaga the famed dress).

To be honest it didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to because the chest part was difficult to get fitted and it was slightly baggy. I thought I measured every part correctly but I guess I have learnt from my mistakes.

Even though it is not perfect it look visually appealing I love the layers and colour mixture make the dress stand out.
